Anthony Senagore M.D., MS, MBA
Colon & Rectal Surgery
Dr. Senagore serves as the Surgical Discipline Chair and as Professor of General Surgery for CMU CMED. Dr. Senagore will have a clinic in Saginaw as part of CMU Health. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University. Dr. Senagore brings a strong research background and experience from Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California.
Samuel Shaheen M.D., F.A.C.S.
General Surgery
Dr. Shaheen is the Vice Chair of Surgical Disciplines and Professor of Surgery at the CMU College of Medicine Department of Surgery. He earned an MD degree in 1992 from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor, and performed his surgical residency at Northwestern University in Illinois. He was board certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1998/2007, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Peter Bistolarides M.D, F.A.C.S.
General Surgery
Dr. Bistolarides is Director an Associate Professor of General Surgery at CMU College of Medicine Department of Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Bistolarides is a native of Toronto, Canada, and has resided in Michigan since 1994. He attended the University of Toronto and received MD degree from its medical school, and an MBA from the business school. He completed his residency in general surgery in the University of Toronto postgraduate surgery program. He joined CMU College of Medicine in 2006 after 20 years of private surgical practice in both Ontario and Michigan.
Yong C. Yoon M.D., F.A.C.S.
General Surgery
Dr. Yoon earned an MD degree in 1996 from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, School of Medicine, Brooklyn, N.Y., and performed his surgical residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. He was board certified by the American Board of Surgery in 2005 and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Timothy Hackett, M.D.
General Surgery
Dr. Hackett earned an MD degree in 2004 from the University of Toledo Health Sciences College of Medicine in Ohio. He performed his surgical residency at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. Dr. Hackett is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Vasanth Stalin M.D.
General Surgery
Received an MD degree in 1999 from Madurai Medical College in India and performed his surgical residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in NY. Fellowship in advance Laparoscopy/Bariatric Surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. Dr. Stalin is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Samer Kais, M.D.
General Surgery
Received an MD degree in 2005 from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit MI and performed his surgical residency at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit Michigan. Dr. Kais is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Tom Diven, M.D.
General Surgery
Earned an MD degree in 2006 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School of Dallas. He completed his surgical residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania and a fellowship in endocrine surgery at North Shore University Health System, a teaching affiliate of The University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. Board certified from the American Board of Surgery in 2011.

Maher Ghanem, M.D.
General Surgery
Dr. Ghanem, an assistant professor of general surgery with the CMU College of Medicine, is a board certified surgeon with an expertise in advanced laparoscopic endocrine, oncologic, stomach cancer and esophageal cancer surgery. He earned his medical degree in 2004 from Tichreen University in Syria, and he performed his surgical residency at Central Michigan University in Saginaw. He had a fellowship in endocrine and oncologic surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Larry Ansari, M.D.
Surgery
Dr. Ansari, an assistant professor of general surgery with the CMU College of Medicine, is a board certified surgeon with an expertise in general and acute-care surgery and critical care surgery. He earned his medical degree in 2003 from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, and he performed his surgical residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. He also had a fellowship in surgical critical care medicine/trauma at Sparrow Health System in Lansing.

Physician Assistant
Marcus Breidinger, certified through the Physician Assistant Board, earned his bachelor’s degree in biology in 2010 and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies in 2012 from Central Michigan University.
Laurie Meyer, N.P.
Nurse Practitioner
Laurie Meyer earned an RN Degree in 1989 from Delta College, a BS in Nursing in 2006 from Saginaw Valley State University and an MS in Nursing in 2009 from SVSU. She earned her Nurse Practitioner Board Certification in 2009 from the American Nursing Credentialing Center.

Heidi Richards, certified through the Board of Nursing, earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing from Saginaw Valley State University.

Received a BS in Health Science in 2009 and MS in Physician Assistant in 2011 from Central Michigan University. Physician Assistant Board Certification in 2011 from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
