Monthly Feature: National Poison Prevention Month
There are more than 4,000,000 poisoning cases and 30,000 poison related deaths each year in the United States. Many common items in our homes can be poisonous—household cleaners, medicines, cosmetics, garden products, houseplants, etc. Your child could swallow, inhale, or eat these toxic substances or get them on his or her skin. Young children have the highest risk of poisoning because of their natural curiosity. Products that are poisonous to children can also harm pets. Click here to read more information on this topic.
