Spatial Thinking

Spatial thinking posters highlight a basic definition of geographic literacy which incorporates the spatial thinking modes identified in the contemporary brain research.  The strategy is to help teachers ask geographic questions and link them with content, concepts and skills.

The secondary Spatial Thinking Poster uses map examples from around the world. The elementary version simplifies some of the language and uses regional and national examples. For more information, view the Spatial Thinking PowerPoint.
