Travel to Denver, Colo. and exchange ideas, research, resources and best practices in geography education, and experience geography through field trips!
NCGE is dedicated to expanding and improving geography education in U.S. schools and contributing to the development of highly qualified geography teachers. Attend this year's conference and connect with your geography education community!
October 11-12, 2013Michigan Council for History Education ConferenceCollisions and Encounters: Migrations in a Global Perspective, 15th Century to the Present
- This project focuses on helping middle school teachers improve their content and skills for teaching world geography and history. The project begins with an eight-day workshop (August 12-16 and August 19-21) at Macomb ISD, and continues through the 2013-14 academic year, including three Saturday workshops and a four-day assessment workshop in June 2014. Teachers receive a stipend of $120/day as well as several hundred dollars' worth of materials. Sixth and seventh grade middle school teachers from Macomb County and the Detroit Public School System are eligible. Information is available from Michael Libbee at email@example.com. - Setting a very reasonable registration rate of $40 for this two-day program, the Michigan Council for History Education Conference is combining with the "Great Lakes History Conference" to offer a wide variety of sessions with appeal to history educators across Michigan.
