Master of Science in Chemistry (M.S.)

Minimum Total for Graduation: 30 hours

The M.S. degree is a research degree and specializations are possible in biochemistry, analytical, inorganic, organic, physical, polymer and materials chemistry. Graduates are employed in chemical industry or continue their education in Ph.D. and M.D. programs.

In addition to the standard College of Graduate Studies admission requirements, you must submit scores for the General GRE. Also, you must arrange for 2-3 persons familiar with your academic abilities and suitability as a graduate student and teaching assistant to send letters of recommendation to the Graduate College.

To receive full consideration for financial support beginning in a fall semester, all application materials must be received no later than February 1.

Master of Arts in Teaching College Chemistry (M.A.)

Minimum Total for Graduation: 30 hours

The M.A. degree emphasizes teaching college-level chemistry courses. Students prepare for teaching careers at community colleges and universities.

In addition to the standard College of Graduate Studies admission requirements, you must submit scores for the General GRE. Also, you must arrange for 2-3 persons familiar with your academic abilities and suitability as a graduate student and teaching assistant to send letters of recommendation to the Graduate College. Letters of support may also be emailed directly to mary.tecklenburg@cmich.edu.

To receive full consideration for financial support beginning in a fall semester, all application materials must be received no later than February 1.
