CMU students, faculty and external researchers are able to increase their research on the Great Lakes thanks to the recent addition of a 38-foot vessel to the College of Science and Technologies fleet. The vessel is moored at the Beaver Island Municipal Marina and is equipped with an A-frame and gunwale davit for deploying scientific equipment in deep-water regions of Lake Michigan. Equipment includes a newly purchased CTD and Rosette sampler, mulitcorer, ponar and various plankton nets. It is also equipped with a small laboratory.
