Tuition rates for all CMU courses are established by the CMU Board of Trustees and are based on academic class status. For more information about tuition rates, please click here.

Room and Board Rates

The fees listed below are the Summer 2014 rates. Room and board are included in all prices. If staying at the CMU Biological Station, there is no option to waive meals. Room and board rates are subject to change without notice.

Financial Aid

CMU Biological Station Scholarships

  • Scholarships are available to help cover costs associated with research and coursework at CMUBS.
  • Scholarship information and applications are available online.
  • The deadline for scholarship applications is March 15.

CMU Biological Station Tuition Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded annually to qualified and deserving undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in courses at the Biological Station during the regular summer sessions (Sessions 1 and 2).

Suzanne and Raymond Baber, Jr. Endowed Scholarship for Beaver Island Students

One $500 scholarship awarded annually to a CMU biology major or minor enrolled in a course at the CMU Biological Station.

Roy and Alice Burlington Beaver Island Endowed Award

One $500 scholarship awarded annually to an undergraduate student enrolled in an independent study (BIO 403: Undergraduate Research) in field biology on Beaver Island.

Norvall C. and Evelyn Gagnon Bovee Scholarship

One $500 scholarship awarded annually to a qualified, full-time undergraduate junior or senior enrolled in at least one course at the CMU Biological Station.

Raymond E. Hamptom Excellence in Biology Research Award

One $500 scholarship awarded annually to a second-year graduate student who is doing summer research at the CMU Biological Station.

Gil and Kay Starks Endowed Scholarship

One $500 scholarship awarded annually to a sophomore, junior or senior level student who is seeking secondary education certification in biology, has an outstanding academic background, and is enrolled in a CMU Biological Station course.

Corey Paul Woiteshek Beaver Island Endowed Award

One $500 scholarship awarded annually to a qualified undergraduate junior or senior biology major enrolled in at least one class at the CMU Biological Station.
