What Can I Do with a Major in Environmental Science

In CMU's environmental science program, you'll acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to understand our ever-changing environment. Environmental scientists play an important role in our society through cleaning up polluted areas, advising policy makers, and working with industry to reduce impacts on the environment.

This student-focused program, brand new for 2016, will give you the skills you'll need to help protect the environment in the face of society's increasing need for resources. For example, as part of your courses you will collect samples from natural areas, analyze them in the laboratory, and communicate your findings. You will also use high-tech software to simulate the impacts future changes might have on the environment.
