Graduate Student Funding Opportunities

The CMU Office of Research and Sponsored Programs provides some support for scholarly work by graduate students.

The following programs that support scholarly activity are administered by the College of Graduate Studies:

  • Dissertation Support Program
  • Graduate Student Research and Creative Endeavors Grant
  • Graduate Student Publication and Presentation Award

Graduate Student Presentation Grant

The Science of Advanced Materials Ph.D. program recognizes the importance of you presenting your research at professional meetings. If you are a SAM graduate student whose work has been accepted for presentation at national or international conferences, you are eligible to apply for a Presentation Grant of up to $350 per year from the SAM program. You must be the individual actually making the presentation to qualify for this grant. Click here to learn more.
