Welcome to the College of Education and Human Services
Paula Lancaster, Dean, College of Education and Human Services
Whether you are a future, current, or returning student, we are glad you are here and know you will find the programs and people to help you reach your goals. Our college has more than 40 degree programs spanning undergraduate, master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels. While 2020 has presented us with challenges, we are determined to move forward, learn and grow together, and provide the highest quality educational experiences.
Our renowned faculty represent a range of disciplines including counseling, educational leadership, elementary, secondary, and special education, fashion merchandising and design, human development and family studies, interior design, recreation, parks, and leisure services. A common thread running through each program is our “student-first” commitment. EHS faculty and staff take tremendous pride in this student-centered approach. If you have questions or need information, please reach out to faculty, staff, and me.
We are here for you.
Explore our website and wonderful facilities
Notice the state-of-the-art technology and lab and studio facilities, high number of community-based projects and events, and the industry-centered internships our students have access. EHS faculty and staff are highly engaged and connected with professionals in their fields and leverage these connections to offer unique and practical experiences to students throughout their programs of study. Faculty also engage in considerable research and scholarly endeavors. We encourage students to participate in this work as we ask and attempt to answer questions that will move our fields forward.
Finally, one of the strongest features of a college committed to education and human services is that we recognize and embrace the complexity of the human condition. We realize students bring an array of experiences, ideas, strengths, and barriers to the table, and we are prepared to meet our students where they are and grow and learn with them. Along with so many citizens across our country and the world, we have spent considerable time examining our own biases and learning more about our own history. Throughout the 2020-21 year, we will work to take concrete steps toward putting that learning into action and ensuring a just and equitable educational experience for all.
Once again, welcome to the College of Education and Human Services. Please spend some time exploring and feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. We look forward to hearing from you and adding your voice to our community.
