Dr. Maureen MacGillivray, Professor
Workable fashions: Maureen MacGillivray designs apparel that enhances the way the body looks, feels and works. “I’m part of a multidisciplinary research team that examines next-to-skin apparel and multifunctional fabrics that improve the way we live,” she says. “In bringing corporate projects to the classroom, students help solve real world apparel and textile problems.”

Research Interests:
- Functional apparel design for sports, health, saftety, ergonomic and other applications
- Use of body scanning and infra-red thermography to map the body surface and 
  examine heat exchange under various environmental and metabolic activitiy levels
- Sensory analysis of clothing systems

Teaching Interests:
- Functional apparel design
- Socio-cultural aspects of dress
- Paris Study Abroad
