The Project

This project was born out of a series of discussions between Dr. Pehrsson and Dr. McMillen when both were assistant professors at Oregon State University. The project migrated to UNLV and is now at a new home at Central Michigan University. Their work was founded in a joint belief in the enormous power of literature and stories as therapeutic tools. Together they assisted emerging and seasoned practitioners to utilize literature with competency in their work with clients and students. Dr. McMillen retired in 2012 and this project continues with many others who are passionate about connecting individuals with reading material to promote personal and professional growth. Since its development, the Bibliotherapy Education Project Website has been accessed by individuals in over 70 countries.
