 Bus Pick Up/Drop Off Schedules

2017 Dates:
Session 1: July 9-12
Session 2: July 12-15

Below is a detailed agenda for the bus departure time for each school. The bus will be parked in the main parking lot of each school and will adhere to the firm departure times. In an effort to limit the amount of time spent on the bus, it is important for you to arrive on time. If you do not arrive on time, the bus will leave without you. 

You will also find information regarding the closing ceremony for each session below, along with directions to campus and parking locations. 

Session 1 (July 9-12)

* Flint Area Schools (July 9-12)

Sunday Camp Departure:
Students need to be dropped off at their school Sunday, July 9 at the designated time noted below.
  • Holly Academy: Arrive by 1:50 p.m., Bus departs at 2:10 p.m.
  • Woodland Park Academy:  Arrive by 2:30 p.m., Bus departs at 2:50 p.m.
  • International Academy of Flint: Arrive by 3:05 pm., Bus departs at 3:25 p.m.
  • Linden Academy: Arrive by 3:40 p.m., Bus departs at 4 p.m.
  • Arrive to CMU at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday Return Home:

Following camp, students will be dropped off at their school on Wednesday, July 12. It is just as important for family members to arrive on time to pick their student up at each school location.

  • Linden Academy: 4:30 p.m.
  • International Academy of Flint: 5 p.m.
  • Woodland Park Academy: 5:30 p.m.
  • Holly Academy: 6:05 p.m.
* Great Lakes Bay Region Schools (July 9-12)

Sunday Camp Departure:
Students need to be dropped off at their school Sunday, July 9 at the designated time noted below.
  • North Saginaw Charter Academy: Arrive by 3:35 p.m., bus departs at 3:55 p.m.
  • The Midland Academy of Advanced and Creative Studies: Arrive by 4:25 p.m., Bus departs at 4:45 p.m.
  • Arrive at CMU at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday Return Home:

Following camp, students will be dropped off at their school on Wednesday, July 12. It is just as important for family members to arrive on time to pick their student up at each school location.

  • North Saginaw Charter Academy: 3:45 p.m.
  • The Midland Academy of Advanced and Creative Studies: 4:15 p.m.​
*Local Area Schools (Isabella County)

DROP OFF TIME: 5:45 P.M.

Students will need to be dropped off on Sunday, July 9 at the Kulhavi Hall within the Towers Residence Hall Complex on the campus of CMU, located off Broomfield Street (near the 7-11 Convenient Store).

PICK UP TIME: 2:30 P.M.

Following camp, students need to be picked up on Wednesday, July 12 from Kulhavi Hall. It is just as important for family members to arrive on time to pick their student up. 


Session 2 (July 12-15)

* Detroit Area Schools (July 12-15)

Wednesday Camp Departure: 
Students will need to be dropped off at their school on Wednesday, July 12 at the designated time noted below.
  • West Village Academy: Arrive by 12:55 p.m., Bus departs at 1:15 p.m.
  • Flagship Charter Academy: Arrive by 1:40 p.m., Bus departs at 2 p.m.
  • Manoogian School: Arrive by 2:15 p.m., Bus departs at 2:35 p.m.
  • Noor International Academy: Arrive by 3 p.m., Bus departs at 3:20 p.m.
  • Arrive at CMU at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday Retrun Home:
Following camp, students will be dropped off at their school on Saturday, July 15. It is just as important for family members to arrive on time to pick their student up at each school location.
  • Noor International Academy: 5 p.m. 
  • Manoogian School: 5:40 p.m.
  • Flagship Charter Academy: 6:10 p.m.
  • West Village Academy: 6:50 p.m. 
* West Michigan Schools (July 12-15)

Wednesday Camp Departure:
Students will need to be dropped off at their school on Wednesday, July 12 at the designated time noted below.
  • New Branches Charter Academy: Arrive by 2:35 p.m., Bus departs at 2:55 p.m.
  • Arrive to CMU at 4:45 p.m.
Saturday Return Home:
Following camp, students will be dropped off at their school on Saturday, July 15. It is just as important for family members to arrive on time to pick their student up at each school location
  • New Branches Charter Academy: 4:45 p.m.

 Closing Ceremony

​Camp Central for Col​lege Candidates will conclude with a closing ceremony, where each student  will have the opportunity to share what they have learned and experienced throughout camp. If you are interested in attending the Camp Central for College Candidates closing ceremony, the ceremony for the Flint, Great Lakes Bay and Mid Michigan Schools will be held on Wednesday, July 12 and on Saturday, July 15  for the Detroit and West Michigan Area Schools. 

The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. in French Auditorium in the Education and Human Services Building at CMU. Light refreshments will be served. 

Should you plan on attending the closing ceremony, please let us know if you also plan to take your student home with you versus riding the bus. Should you be interested in attending the closing ceremony, please RSVP to Sheila Roupe by Friday, July 9 at 989-774-3054 or at campcentral@cmich.edu​ with the total number in your party and if you plan to drive your student home. 

Please note that immediately following the closing ceremony, campers will still have to pack and check out of their room between 2-3 p.m. Should you plan to drive them home with you instead of riding the bus, you will have to wait for them to pack and check out.

From Flint/Detroit Northern Suburbs
Take I-75 north to the Midland US 10 exit. Follow the exit into Midland and watch signs for US 10/20. Take M-20 west into Mt. Pleasant. Once in Mt. Pleasant, M-20 becomes Pickard Street. Continue on M-20/Pickard until you reach Mission Street, the sixth stoplight. Turn left. Go to the sixth traffic light at Broomfield Street, turn right. Continue traveling west on Broomfield until you get to the street light at West Campus Drive and turn right (right turn only). Drive 1/4 mile, and turn right at the entrance to parking Lot 22, which will be on your right. The EHS Building will be across the street and can be viewed HERE.

From Detroit/Detroit Southern Suburbs
Take Interstate 96 west to Lansing, then US 127 north following the directional signs to Clare. Proceed north on US 127 to the first Mt. Pleasant exit (#139). You will exit onto Mission Street. At the second stoplight, Broomfield Street, turn left. Continue traveling west on Broomfield until you get to the street light at West Campus Drive and turn right (right turn only). Drive 1/4 mile, and turn right at the entrance to parking Lot 22, which will be on your right. The EHS Building will be across the street and can be viewed HERE.

From West Michigan/Grand Rapids
Take Interstate 131 to Grand Rapids/Cadillac. Take highway M46 east toward Lakeview or Saginaw. At Six Lakes (blinker light), turn left or north on highway 66. Continue to Remus, and at the traffic light turn right or east on M20. Once in Mt. Pleasant, M-20 becomes High Street. At the fourth traffic light (Washington Street), turn right. At the first four-way stop (West Campus Drive), turn right. Follow West Campus Drive and continue through the first four-way stop. After about 1/4 mile, the entrance to parking Lot 22 will be on your left. The EHS Building will be across the street and can be viewed HERE.
