A CMU-wide collaboration worked to create Camp Central for College Candidates, which focused on STEAM education and leadership experience. Through wide-ranging expertise, the academic partners developed this inspirational camp that helps seventh graders better understand what college has to offer for them, what STEAM professions are really like and what leaders acts like. These CMU partners included: Institutional Diversity’s Gear-Up program, the Governor John Engler Center for Charter Schools, the Science/Mathematics/Technology Center and the College of Education and Human Services.
Other partners included CMU faculty in science, math, engineering and music engineering, as well as CMU students, the students that attend CMU chartered schools and their parents.Looking for more partners - Funding
