The Literacy Center at CMU represents a dynamic partnership between Central Michigan University and the surrounding central Michigan region.
The objectives of the center are to:
Support area students and their families by providing instructional services in reading and writing.
Provide undergraduate teacher candidates and graduate students the opportunity to acquire and hone their skills and knowledge in literacy diagnosis and remediation.
Support the professional development of CMU teacher candidates and in-service teachers in the community.
Conduct and disseminate research to the field to inform The Literacy Center and beyond through the Literacy Research Group
The Literacy Center (TLC) is connected to 2 reading courses and serves local students and families through these course offerings as well as educators through regular professional development opportunities.
