Threads fashion show 2014

Fashion Merchandising and Design Minor
 Fashion Merchandising and Design Minor

Fashion touches on most every aspect of life. Still, the benefits of a FMD minor might surprise you. Engineering students can jump right in to a surprisingly technical field. Just think about designing highly functional clothing used by soldiers and athletes. Business majors can bolster a marketing background through knowledge of fashion branding and sales. Communication majors and young journalists often find jobs writing about fashion. And recreation and event management students can help us put on Threads, one of the hottest campus events of the year.

Required courses include
  • FMD 141: Apparel Design Analysis
  • FMD 155: Introduction to Textiles
  • FMD 246: Computer-Aided Design for Apparel
  • FMD 252: Dress and Culture
