partnerships with local and national apparel companies who work with
students throughout the year.|
Mills, the makers of PolarTec fabrics, challenged the students in AMD
447: Functional Apparel Design to come up with ideas for utilizing their
innovative electric textiles powered by lithium batteries. Malden
provided the fabrics and materials and the students developed 14
prototypes from snowboarding jackets to wearable accessories. The HEATME
SCARF was developed by students Michele Palmatier and Sarah Bokor. It
is a 4-way reversible scarf that can be heated for the wearer's thermal
Advanced CAD class collaborated with Brooks Brothers to develop a Web
site that would allow for customization of women’s professional
apparel. Designs were produced using U4ia and Illustrator that could
have interchangeable fabrics, colors and styles.
