Course Options & Preliminary Authorizations
(This is the same as the pink colored handout available at the departmental office) 
This course outline is for CMU Counseling students admitted to the Professional Counseling program option, without teacher certification, so that they may obtain preliminary employment authorization to work as a school counselor upon completion of 39 specific graduate credit hours. Additional credits are required for the M.A. in Counseling degree and for school counselor licensure.

Preliminary Employment Authorization to Work as a School Counselor (leading to counselor endorsement)
(This is the same as the salmon colored handout available at the departmental office) 
This course outline is for CMU Counseling students admitted to the School Counseling​ program option, who possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, so that they may obtain preliminary employment authorization to work as a school counselor upon completion of 33 specific graduate credit hours. Additional credits are required for the M.A. in Counseling degree and for school counselor endorsement. 

Current Professional Counseling Students Seeking School Counseling Licensure
(This is the same as the blue colored handout available at the departmental office) 
This course outline is for current CMU Professional Counseling students without teacher certification, who also wish to pursue school counseling licensure. 

Returning CMU Professional Counseling Graduates with a 48-hour Degree Seeking School Counseling Licensure​
(This is the same as the tan colored handout available at the departmental office) 
This course outline is for past CMU students who earned a M.A. in Counseling degree (in the Professional Counseling concentration), do not have teacher certification, and wish to pursue school counseling licensure.

This course outline is for past CMU students who earned a M.A. in Counseling degree that was less than 48 hours, do not have teacher certification, and wish to pursue school counseling licensure. ​
