Internship Policies

1. Students must receive a grade of C+ or better in HDF 219 in order to take HDF 317 or 319.

Students must receive a grade of C+ or better in HDF 317 or 319 (or another approved skills and methods course) in order to take HDF 419.

Students must receive a grade of C+ or better in HDF 419 in order to graduate.

2. In order to pass HDF 419, you must complete 90% of your internship hours. Students who fail to complete their hours, but have achieved at least 90% will lose 2 pts. for each percentage they fall short of their required number of internship hours. This means if you only complete 90% of your hours, you will lose 20 pts. from your final grade. This does not include points that may be deducted from the work you submit.

3. Interns will not be allow to begin an internship until an affiliation agreement has been signed between CMU and the site. Some sites may already have agreements in place. The Internship Coordinator will facilitate the process once the student has submitted an internship site form.
