Interior Design Major
Your love of interdisciplinary studies could propel you to a career in interior design. By emphasizing an integrated approach that relates interior design to society and architecture, you learn to create and reinvent better home interiors and workspaces. Accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, CMU’s interior design program maintains strong ties to working alumni and features a robust internship program. Your degree qualifies you for many industry jobs, including project manager, design manager or consultant, facilities management consultant, kitchen or bath planner, merchandise manager, or set designer.

Interior Design Minor
Were you the go-to person in your family when it came time to putting a room together? Perhaps you're drawn to interior design because of artistic sensibilities. Whether you're looking to pursue a personal interest or enhance your major, a minor in interior design could be just your thing. Our students learn the ins and outs of drafting, visual communications, computer-aided design, materials/components, as well as design history and studio design ap
plications. You document your work in a portfolio in your final course.
