Internship Process

Internship Process
Enroll in IND 338 (Internship Preparation for Interior Design) the semester prior to completing IND 438 (Interior Design Internship).

Complete assignments for IND 338 by the designated due dates.

Once you have obtained an internship, you must complete the Internship Agreement     and submit it to the internship coordinator. Failure to turn this in will result in an       incomplete grade for IND 338.

After the student and site supervisor have met and agreed upon the internship, the internship coordinator will send a thank you letter to your supervisor. If this is a new internship site, an affiliation agreement will be sent to your supervisor. This must be on file before you begin your internship!

Meet with your site supervisor to develop activities you will complete during your internship that will help you achieve your learning objectives.

Register for IND 438 during the summer semester and IND 433 during the subsequent fall semester.

During the internship, conduct yourself according to the same standards and expectations that apply to permanent employees of the organization. Hours, which are to be applied to the internship, must be completed during the summer semester (see course syllabus). All sites are not visited annually. It is up to the student to contact the internship coordinator or the faculty sponsor if a site visit needs to occur:

Complete assignments for IND 438, as outlined in the course syllabus.
