Leadership Minor

Did you know that one of the top-rated skills sought by employers is leadership? Would you like to be part of a program that helps you develop your leadership skills? The leadership minor might be right for you! As an interdisciplinary program, the Leadership minor compliments a variety of academic programs such as health professions, education, communications, business, political science and recreation. Each year more than 4,000 students are involved with leadership development initiatives and programs on-campus. The CMU Leadership Institute is Michigan’s most comprehensive center for leadership development, training and education.
Highlights about this program
  • Finish your program with an applied project in leadership, either on-campus or in the community
  • Become part of the first academic minor in leadership offered by a four-year public university in the state of Michigan.
  • Engage in classes that emphasize service-learning and practical, hands-on learning

  • LDR 200: Introduction to Leadership
  • COM 461: Communication in Leadership
  • PHL 118: Moral Problems or PHL 218: Ethical Theories or PHL 318: Business Ethics
