Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC)

Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) is a student run organization whose purpose is to advance the education of individuals with exceptionalities and to promote related educational, scientific, and charitable purposes. Throughout the semester SCEC takes part in various volunteer work throughout the city of Mount Pleasant and Central Michigan University. We volunteer at different elementary schools, food kitchens, and Special Olympics to name a few. We also fundraise money for a selected nonprofit organization by selling items to promote awareness of people with disabilities. Our goal is to educate the population about people with disabilities and learn how to incorporate what we have learned in SCEC into our future careers.
