The Child Development and Learning lab
eligible 3 and 4 year old children in a four day program from
8:45am-3:15pm Monday through Thursday. The CDLL
runs on the same calendar schedule as the University. There are
currently 38 Head Start spots and 26 Tuition based spots in our program.
The cost for the tuition based program is $2700 for the school year with a $100 registration fee. The EightCAP Agency is responsible for the Head Start enrollment. If
you think your income may qualify for a Head Start spot, please go to www.michiganpreschool.org to fill out an application or call
(989) 772-0110 ext. 113. Enrollment for Head Start is open year round.
you are interested in a 3 year old spot either in our Tuition or Head
Start program for the Fall 2017 year, your child must be turning 3 years old by September 1st of 2017.
-If you are interested in a
4 year old spot in our Head Start or Tuition program for the Fall 2017 year, your child
must turn 4 years old by September 1st of 2017.
Enrollment for the Fall 2016 Tuition program has been completed.
Enrollment for our tuition program is open October 1st through December 31st each
year for families whose children are eligible to attend the following fall. Currently we complete enrollment in January after the open
enrollment period has closed. If we do not have a spot available for your child, you will
receive a letter typically by the second week in February.
We have 64 spots, with 38 of
those being Head Start spots that the Eight CAP Agency handles enrollment for.
The remaining 26 spots are filled by returning children first (meaning they are
here this year as a three year old and will return next year as a four year
old). There are many factors that go into our enrollment process, but we generally go by date/time of admission of application. We do reserve the right to look at each application individually to decide if a child should be enrolled.
If you have submitted an application for your
child, it is imperative that you contact us with any contact information
changes. If your child does not get in as a three year old or if you prefer for them to wait until they are four, you will now need to re-submit an application the following enrollment period as we no longer will be "rolling over" the applications to the following year.
As stated in the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct:
We shall not participate in practices that discriminate against children by denying benefits, giving special advantages, or excluding them from programs or activities on the basis of their sex, race, national origin, immigration status, preferred home language, religious beliefs, medical condition, disability, or the marital status/family structure, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs or other affiliations of their families. (Aspects of this principle do not apply in programs that have a lawful mandate to provide services to a particular population of children.)
