The second semester of the Professional Education Sequence aims to provide Teacher Candidates with a foundation of understanding of teaching and learning approaches and strategies in a classroom setting. To provide practical application of classroom teaching, your Science, Social Studies, Reading and Math courses will have a specific field component or assigned projects requiring observation and participation in school classrooms. The goal is to ensure continuity in candidates' presence in the school, allowing them to experience the development of teaching and learning over time, while providing support to the school and community.
Information regarding the application will be sent to their CMICH email account once candidates have enrolled in their pre-student teaching course.

. Your cooperating teacher will receive a packet of information that includes a copy of your application with responses to the essay questions and an explanation of their role in your Pre-Student Teaching Experience. This is an opportunity for you to make a good first impression.

Procedures and requirements for your pre-student teaching experience (EDU 361) will be discussed in each of your methods courses during the first week of the semester. Your pre-student teaching experience will begin approximately the third week of the semester. Pre-student teaching packets and required forms will be distributed to you at that time. Any questions or concerns you may have about your pre-student teaching experience can be addressed in your university education courses.
