Sunidhi Dhiman Mehta graduated from CMU in 2012 with an MS in Apparel Product Development and Merchandising Technology. While at CMU, she worked as a graduate assistant and Lab Director in CMDT over a two-year period.
She describes her time in CMDT as “an unparalleled learning experience.”
Her role as lab director gave her experience in working with a diverse collection of faculty, students, and industry partners.
She assumed a leadership role in managing and training undergraduate and graduate students, leading weekly faculty research meetings, managing fiscal accounts, procuring materials and managing the inventory of lab supplies and materials.
She assisted in research and contract projects including using the thermal manikin, environmental chamber and the biofeedback equipment. While Sunidhi did come into CMDT with a great deal of research experience, she recognizes that working in CMDT further enhanced and honed her research skills. The state of the art research facility, strong academic program, and most importantly, the “ever encouraging faculty have supported me in every step of the way.”
Dr. Sunidhi Mehta is currently a tenure track assistant professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She attests that the major factors responsible for her success are hard work, a great education, and the love and support of her family that includes her husband and two children.
