Membership Requirements

​​Participating in the EHSRC requires a commitment to engaged, active learning. All members of this community must seek majors/minors within the College of Education and Human Services. In addition, each member also completes the following courses as part of the EHSRC cohort during their​ first semester:

  • EHS First Year seminar course (1 credit)
  • HDF 100 or PSY 100 (3 credits) - depending on major requirements
  • ENG or MTH placement (3 credits)
  • TAI 170 (3 credits)
  • ​TWO courses from your major/minor area (6 credits)
  • Total: 16-17​ credits

It is also expected that all EHSRC members:

  • Live on 2nd Floor Sweeney Hall​
  • Follow the C.L.A.S.S. standards and participate in six events per semester
  • Complete an Academic Career Plan by the end of the first semester
  • Attend the monthly EHSRC meetings
  • Maintain a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  • First-years complete a minimum of 7.5 service hours each semester for a minimum of 15 ​total hours for the year
  • Returners​ complete a minimum of 10 service hours each semester for a minimum of 20 total hours for the year​​
