​Membership Requirements

Participating in the EHSRC does require a commitment to engaged, active learning. All members of this community seek a major within the College of Education and Human Services. In addition, each new member also completes the following courses as part of the EHSRC cohort during the first semester of college:

  • HDF 100 or PSY 100 (3 credits)
  • ENG or MTH placement (3 credits)
  • TAI 170 (3 credits)
  • FYE 101e (1 credit) - A freshman seminar for EHSRC students
  • TWO courses from your major/minor area (6 credits)
    Total: 15-17​ credits

It is also expected that all EHSRC members:

  • Live on 2nd Floor Sweeney Hall​
  • Follow the C.L.A.S.S. standards and participate in six events per semester
  • Complete an Academic Career Plan by the end of the first semester
  • Attend the monthly EHSRC meetings
  • Maintain a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  • Freshmen complete a minimum of 7.5 service hours each semester for a minimum of 15 ​total hours for the year
  • Upperclassmen complete a minimum of 10 service hours each semester for a minimum of 20 total hours for the year
