The College of Education and Human Services prides itself on providing informative and engaging events for prospective students. As the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues, the health and safety of our entire CMU community, which includes you and your family, is our top priority. Equally important is your college exploration experience.  We have had to cancel many of our spring events but are working diligently to provide virtual resources.  See all of the opportunities available below based on your interest!

Virtual One-on-One Sessions
Have questions regarding the College of Education and Human Services? Set-up a virtual one-on-one session where we can customize the information you are receiving and the individuals that you are interacting with. Options include meeting with academic advisors, faculty members and/or current students. Choose the date and time the best-fits your schedule! July 6- 10, 2020 EHS College Week - registration is open!

  • For students exploring EHS academic areas of study
  • Over the course of a week, you will find out what it’s like to study your passion at CMU, through live interactive sessions and pre-recorded content. Sessions include live Q&A panels with current faculty, students and parents, a virtual tour, an admissions presentation, and breakout sessions from many academic departments.

Leadership Minor - Virtual Event

Did you know that one of the top-rated skills sought by employers is leadership? Would you like to be part of a program that helps you develop your leadership skills? The leadership minor might be right for you!

The session will include: 
  • Overview of the Department of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration 
  • Insight into the Leadership Minor from a current faculty member
  • Participate in a Q&A session with current students

Teacher Education and Special Education Virtual Event

Students interested in Teacher Education and Special Education, attend this virtual event to learn more about these programs, hear tips from an academic advisor and participate in a Q&A session with our college ambassadors. 

The session will include:

  • Hear from Teacher Education and Special Education faculty members 
  • Receive information from an Academic Advisor
  • Participate in a Q&A session with our student ambassadors

Behind the Curtain 

As an alternative to our on-campus Behind The Curtain event, please join us for this online session to learn more about the fashion merchandising and design program at CMU.

For students interested in fashion merchandising and design Please join FMD faculty member Dr. Michael Mamp for this virtual web-seminar where you will:  

  • Learn about careers that our students have pursued
  • Our use of technology in the merchandising and design process
  • Study abroad/away opportunities for students in FMD

For students interested in interior design  
As an alternative to our on-campus Think2design event, please join interior design faculty and students for an online session to provide information about the interior design profession, and CMU’s human-centered interior design program from a variety of perspectives. Panels will be available to answer questions and provide valuable insight for you as you investigate your future careers.

The session will include:
  • A faculty panel to address questions related to the program’s CIDA accredited curriculum, and how it relates to the interior design profession.
  •  A student panel to provide insight into their experience as learners in CMU’s interior design program.
