The Michigan Geographic Alliance is a network of teachers, geographers and educators who are committed to using geographic content and skills to improve the educational experiences of Michigan students. Our trained Teacher Consultants are actively involved in assisting school districts and individual teachers attain the skills to assure students are proficient in geographic knowledge and skills.
The MGA is one of the largest and most active geographic alliances in the United States, offering almost 200 hours of professional development in a typical year.
About Teacher Consultants
A Teacher Consultant (TC) is a teacher who has:
- Successfully completed at least 90 hours of MGA professional development
- Become proficient in presenting professional development workshops using the MGA model
- Have a workshop evaluated by MGA staff and peers
