You’ll develop expertise in English, math, social studies or science in preparation for a teaching career at the secondary education level (grades six through 12). From the language arts through critical STEM disciplines, you pick your subject passion from among several majors and minors in CMU’s secondary teacher certification program. Your teaching style will develop through classroom observations and through the practical experiences of a student teaching placement. A variety of community involvement activities, including student organizations, service learning work and study abroad opportunities, will broaden your teaching perspective.
