What is WiT?
Lisa GandyPearce Hall email@example.com
Women in Technology is an organization built by women to empower everyone pursuing an education/career in CS/IT.
How we do it?
Through hands-on learning, every WiT member will build on their professional development, learn technical interview skills, programming and hardware/software concepts, software development methodologies, contribute to an open source project, build interpersonal skills, and much more.
Why we do it?
The world needs great software engineers. Every CS/IT student should have exposure to real world problems in software development and to learn how to relate homework to real world scenarios. We want to equip our members with the skills to not only be marketable to employers, but to become a part of the next generation of great software developers and engineers. We believe that sharing information, knowledge, and expertise is the best way to help every aspiring software engineer or IT specialist achieve success.
The focus of our organization (Women in Technology) is to support women in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Technology. We provide this support by giving students access to mentoring services and opportunities to collaborate with faculty and contribute to the community at large.
Women in Technology meetings for the 2016-2017 academic year will be on Tuesdays at 6:00pm in Pearce 419
