  • 1-2pm: Meet at BIBCO Dock, distribute passenger tickets, park vehicle in long term lot (last shuttle from parking lot at 2pm)
  • 2:30pm: Ferry departure from Charlevoix
  • 4:45pm: Arrive on Beaver Island - transfer gear to CMU vehicle, transport to CMU Biological Station (CMUBS)
  • 5:30pm: Dinner 
  • 6:30pm: Orientation

  • 8pm: Welcome social with dessert and campus tour

  • 8-9am: Continental breakfast
  • 9am: Day Planning - Water Chemistry
    • Options
      • Chippewa Boat Trip: CTD and ROV demonstrations
      • Fox Lake Tour: canoe/kayak exploring the ecology and chemistry of the lake
      • Lake Geneserath Tour: water sampling, large inland lake to include Van Dorn, water kits, portable probes, and deluxe kits and the lighthouse
      • South End Bio Tour: Iron Ore Bay, birch tree, Millers Marsh and the snakes
  • 9:30am: Tour #1 (pick one option)
  • 12-1pm: Lunch
  • 1pm: Tour #2 (pick one option)
  • 3:15pm: Tour #3 (pick one option)
  • 5:30pm: Dinner
    • Dinner Conversation "Impacts of the NSF undergraduate environmental research laboratory experiences

NOTE: Load your luggage onto the CMU vehicle before 3pm. It will be transferred to the ferry for the 5:20 boat

      • 2pm shuttle leaving CMUBS for town, you will remain in town until the ferry departure
      • 2pm shuttle leaving CMUBS for golf outing, you will be picked up from the golf course at 4:15pm and taken to town and remain there until the ferry departure
      • 4pm shuttle leaving CMUBS for town, you will remain in town until the ferry begins bording
  • 4:50pm: Emerald Isle Ferry Boarding
  • 5:20pm: Emerald Isle Departure
