If you are experiencing symptoms and/or have been identified as close contact:
Schedule a testing appointment online. Do not be tested at the Bovee University Center. If you have additional questions, call 989-774-1317 or email covidtesting@cmich.edu.

Students, faculty and staff who are unvaccinated or do not wish to complete the voluntary vaccine attestation must be tested weekly. Free testing is available throughout the week in the Bovee University Center — review the following steps to schedule a routine test.

How to Complete Weekly Testing

Complete your weekly testing in three steps:

  1. Register and schedule your test.
  2. Complete COVID test at your scheduled time.
  3. Upload a copy of your results.

Step 1: Register and Schedule Your Weekly COVID-19 Test

  1. Open Helix Diagnostics Form
  2. Complete personal information: cmich email, today’s date for informed consent, name, date of birth, current address and if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have been hospitalized with COVID-19.

  3. At the end of the registration form, open the scheduler link to set your testing appointment. Tests are offered 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday in five-minute intervals. All testing will take place in the Bovee University Center Terrace Rooms.

  4. Confirm your name, email and global ID, and select a day and time that’s convenient for you.

  5. Select “Book” to confirm your testing appointment.
  6. Select “Submit” to complete your Helix registration.

Great work: You’ve successfully scheduled your COVID-19 test! Your appointment will automatically be added to your Outlook calendar. You also will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details.

Step 2: Go and Complete Your COVID-19 Test

  1. Visit the Bovee University Center Terrace Rooms at least five minutes prior to your scheduled test.
  2. Following your test, you will receive a card with instructions for accessing your test results. If you would like to be notified when your results are ready, opt in for text notifications.

Don’t forget to submit your results via the CMU COVID-19 Health Screen website or smartphone app.

Step 3: Upload Your Test Results

Your test results will be available within three days. To be notified when your results are ready, opt in to text alerts.

  1. Access the Helix Diagnostics Portal. If you have opted in for text results, you’ll receive a link when your results are ready.
  2. Log in to your Helix account to view your results
    1. If this is your first test, create a new account to use going forward. If you have received results from Helix in the past, enter your information to access your account.

  3. View and download a copy of your test results to your computer or mobile device.

  5. Select the “Required COVID-19 Testing” tile.

  6. Provide testing information such as result, test date and location.

  7. Upload a copy of your results by selecting "Choose File".
  8. Select “Next” to submit your results.

You’ve successfully submitted your COVID-19 test results! Thank you for doing your part to protect yourself and to protect others.

Two days before your next test results are due, you will receive a reminder within the CMU COVID-19 Health Screen website or smartphone app to schedule your next test. Don’t forget to submit your daily health screening questions.

FAQ:

You can cancel or reschedule a test using the “Change your appointment” link at the bottom of your confirmation email. Select “New Booking” to create a new appointment.

Results will be available within three days. To receive a notification when your results are ready, opt-in for text alerts.

Tests can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance.

You’re welcome to use any testing location or provider for a PRC or antigen test. Home tests are not acceptable. Students, faculty and staff tested at other locations are responsible for any costs and for uploading their results via the CMU COVID-19 Health Screen website or smartphone app.

Self-report a positive COVID-19 test

If you visit another health care provider, health department or pharmacy and test positive for COVID-19, please complete the CMU COVID-19 Health Screen app, call the COVID-19 Tracking Team at 989-774-7136 or email covidtracking@cmich.edu immediately.

Your medical information is confidential. CMU Health will not share your diagnosis with others. Self-reporting helps university health care professionals conduct contact tracing and provide resources and support you may need for working, learning and living in our campus community.
