COVID-19 Emergency Management Team

When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, the Central Michigan University Emergency Management Team was activated to coordinate operational preparation and response. Critical members of the team, comprising all areas on campus, were identified to coordinate policy and guidance for a safe, phased return to on-campus operations.

As CMU continues responding to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Emergency Management Team meets regularly, evaluating and adjusting to changes at the state and local level, and makes decisions based on the following goals:

  • Keep CMU safe and healthy.
  • Keep CMU open and operational.
  • Support students, faculty and staff in a caring manner.
  • Prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
  • Support academic pursuits.
  • Position CMU for future success and sustainability.
