The raucous cheers at an intense, action-packed basketball game … the ringing in your ears of the crowd at a sell-out concert … the pride you feel listening to the alma mater during a commencement ceremony.

All these experiences and more will be made possible in CMU’s newly renovated Events Center, which has transformed the university’s existing Rose Center into a new, state of the art complex serving the academic, athletic, and community needs of the university and citizens of central and northern Michigan. Events include Commencement,Saginaw Chippewa Tribe Pow-Wow, Threads Fashion Show​ and many more.

On July 16, 2009, the Board of Trustees gave approval to move ahead with the construction phase of Rose Arena to create the multipurpose Events Center. The action included $18.5 million in funding for construction. $2.5 million had been allocated earlier for architectural design.
