Meet Ibrahim, an international student receiving his Master of Information Systems degree from CMU this year. Ibrahim was raised in Saudi Arabia. He decided to become a CMU Chippewa because the curriculum for the MIS program fit his career plan for the future.

Now, as he prepares to graduate and move back to Saudi Arabia, he says he will miss the community that CMU has given him. “I haven’t felt homesick since I’ve been here. After leaving, I will miss everything about CMU.”

Fish out of water. “It was hard in the beginning to travel with my family to a new country. But then, we started to discover the community here. After that, everything was fine.”

Finding the flow of the stream. “There are a lot of differences in culture here. I’ve realized that many of us have the same dreams.”

Just keep swimming. “Everyone at CMU is helpful. The community has always been very nice and welcoming. It has helped us get adjusted here. It feels like home.”
