Kelsey Baptist

Hospitality Services Administration

Hometown: Canton, Mich.

Meet Kelsey, hospitality services administration senior who spent the summer working in the Hospitality House at McLaren Flint. Through a partnership with McLaren and CMU, Kelsey had the opportunity to get real-world experience as the house manager running the day-to-day operations of a hospitality house.

Kelsey has been passionate about the hospitality industry for as long as she can remember. “I’ve always wanted to be in this industry. Having a real experience running the Hospitality House has been so exciting. I love coming to work and seeing what new challenges I’ll face.”

Making the reservation. “There are so many other parts of hospitality that I never knew before. The entire world uses hospitality every day whether they know it or not. I’ve learned that every door is open for me.”

Time spent at the front desk. “It’s a 24/7 job. At the House, I’m the first line of defense to get on a situation and deal with a problem. I’m the one calling the shots to make sure things are running smoothly.”

Enjoying your stay. “It’s easy to do what I have to do because I love it. It’s been my passion my entire life, and the experience has been so amazing. To be a part of the Hospitality House, and to work with the patients, is a huge blessing.”
