If you receive financial aid in excess of your university charges, the balance will be refunded to you to use toward other education-related expenses, i.e., off-campus room and board, transportation, personal/miscellaneous costs, etc. Early Financial Aid payments are scheduled to be credited to the students' CMU account one week prior to the start date of classes. Students applying for financial aid after the priority deadline of March 1 should be prepared to pay for Fall education and living expenses until their aid is processed and their refund is available.

Once credited to the students account by the Financial Aid Office, Student Account Services and University Billing issues electronic funds via ACH-Direct Deposit or to a BankMobile Vibe account. Please allow two business days after the issue date for your funds to post to your account.
