When experience is everything, the CMU Gold Program helps students set themselves apart from the rest.
CMU's Gold Program aims to provide students with the opportunity to design their on-campus experience, build important skill sets, and help graduates articulate their out-of-class experiences to future employers. By participating in the program, students are able to showcase their college experience to employers, in a succinct and impactful fashion, increasing their chances of employability upon graduation.
Employers and national research suggest that well-rounded students make better employees. To ensure CMU students have a breadth of experiences, the program assembles co-curricular experiences into five different competency areas, including:
- Social Justice & Civic Engagement
- Career Readiness
- Diversity & Inclusion
- Health & Wellbeing
- Leadership Development
Co-curricular experiences are defined as intentionally designed programs, activities, and involvements that are directly tied to CMU's mission, vision, and strategic plan. By choosing meaningful co-curricular experiences through the Gold Program, students have the opportunity to learn more about their values, purpose, and leadership development.
