Registration for all vehicles is required for all residents, commuters, faculty, staff and vendors who use any parking lot other than the metered lots. Resident parking permits are distributed to sophomores, juniors and seniors on a first-come basis. If available, other parking areas located away from the residence halls may be assigned as overflow lots. Freshmen will be assigned to lots 64 and 63 on the south end of campus.

It is suggested that you pre-register your vehicle online between April 1 and July 31. Parking permits requested during this period will be sent to your home address unless you specified to HOLD your permit for pickup at Parking Services. After July 31 you may use the CMU Police express online registration form, although all parking permit requests received after July 31 will be HELD for pickup at the Parking Bureau. Instructions for online registration can be found at the CMU Police website: Parking Services, On-Line Vehicle Registration or can be accessed through the CMU Portal Resources page.

Parking rates for the 2013-2014 academic year are $150.00 for a resident permit. For a second semester permit, the charge is one-half ($75.00) the annual fee. For a summer session parking permit, the charge is one-fifth ($30.00) the annual fee.

The person who registers a vehicle with the university is responsible for all parking violations and is subject to all fines and discipline. Parking violations that are not paid within 7 days, will be assessed a late fee and the total outstanding amount will be added to the registered owner´s student account at Central Michigan University within 14 days.

All violations are handled through the CMU Police/Parking Services Office in the Combined Services Building. Fine payments may be placed in courtesy boxes located around campus.

All students may park their vehicles in their designated areas only. Residence hall parking lot permit regulations are in effect five days a week, Monday through Friday from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

University decals must be properly displayed by the first day of regular classes.
