What is Leadership Safari?

Leadership Safari is a program created by residence hall students in 1996 to help one another learn more about leadership skills and leadership opportunities at Central Michigan University. Growing in popularity and demand from 65 participants in 1996 to 2,100 in 2016, Leadership Safari has become an integral program for all new CMU students, transfer students and freshman alike.

Specifically designed for all new CMU students, Safari provides an opportunity for both freshman and transfer students to learn how to be academically successful at CMU, and demonstrates how involvement in campus activities assists in the development of leadership abilities both inside and outside of the classroom. Furthermore, by joining us on campus early, students will have extra time to get settled into college living prior to the start of fall semester classes. In other words, Leadership Safari is your fast track to success at CMU!

You should attend Safari if you are a new freshman or transfer student interested in becoming familiar with CMU, getting involved on campus and meeting new people!
