You should attend Leadership Safari if you are a new freshman or transfer student interested in becoming familiar with CMU, getting involved on campus and meeting new people!
For those of you who have been accepted into the Health Professions Residential College (HPRC), Business Residential College (BRC), selected as a STEM Educational Scholar, a Multicultural Advancement Scholar, received the Multicultural Award of Distinction, or are a Cofer Scholar, you are highly encouraged to attend. If you are a Pathways Scholar, you are required to attend Leadership Safari. You are NOT, however, automatically registered because of your affiliation with these programs. You must still register yourself online to reserve your spot with the conference.
Our schedule is tightly packed, so there is little time for any of outside activities. Please note that there are special CMU Bookstore hours available on Saturday and Sunday, just for Leadership Safari™ participants. We would encourage you to order your text books early online.
While you will be quite busy from Sunday to Wednesday evening, come Thursday when the rest of campus is arriving and moving in, you will have at least two days of free time to get to know the rest of your classmates and attend Campus and Community Life Orientation, all without the fuss of fighting for elevators, parking, or the mass chaos of move-in day.
