Leadership development opportunities at Central Michigan University are organized by the LeadCMU framework. LeadCMU divides leadership programs into four phases: explore, discover, experience, and challenge. LeadCMU is designed to help students identify leadership programs that match their interest and experience levels.

The International Student Leadership Seminar will help all students build collaborative relationships and support networks while acknowledging the importance of working across differences. The LeaderShape Institute
The LeaderShape Institute challenges participants to lead with integrity while working towards a vision grounded in their deepest values. In this six-day intensive program, participants explore not only what they want to do, but who they want to be. Learn more here.
The Ignite Leadership Program was designed to engage advanced student leaders in a series of developmental workshops informed by the Leadership Challenge and the Student Leadership Practice Inventory (sLPI). The Leadership Challenge is a guidebook used to inform leaders about the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership Model and provide resources that help individuals increase their capacity to lead in organizational settings. Participants in Ignite will gain new insights about their leadership abilities and behaviors by receiving 360-degree feedback from their peers, fellow organizational members, mentors, advisors, co-workers, and supervisors.
