The Leadership Camp Staff, as well as the Office of Residence Life, are thrilled you have taken the time to learn about our amazing program! You will discover what Leadership Camp is all about and why you should attend the first of many exciting opportunities CMU has to offer YOU on your journey as a CMU Chippewa!
Mission of Leadership Camp
The Mission of Leadership Camp is to guide participants in their exploration of The Social Change Model of Leadership Development in a fun and interactive way, engaging them in a collaborative change process that empowers them to make a positive impact on CMU and the broader community. Camp will enhance participants’ understanding of themselves as individuals and how they effectively contribute to a group working on behalf of society.
Leadership Camp also helps participants develop connections with current CMU student leaders, meet other new students and begin forming relationships, and familiarize participants with campus, resources and opportunities. We are an important part of the
CMU Cross Campus Leadership Initiative.
Land Acknowledgement
Central Michigan University resides on the beautiful lands maintained by the Anishinaabe people, the indigenous inhabitants of Michigan with whom we continue to partner today. We are the proud CMU Chippewas, and we take responsibility for the respect that we show for the name and the people for whom we are named. We express our gratitute and appreciation for the territory we reside on, and we work to understand the history of this land and our place within that history.
