Domestic Violence Awareness Month
"Meet the SAPA's"---October 2nd
SAPA advocates will be on the first floor of the UC from 6:00pm-9:00pm. They will be talking to students, faculty, and staff about services and programs offered as well as how to become an advocate.
These Hands Are Not For Hurting---Oct. 15 & 22
SAPA will be asking for all CMU students, faculty, and staff to make a $1 pledge and sign a hand that will be posted in a display in the UC at the end of the month. Our goal is to reach 500 hands!
Purple Ribbons---Oct. 15 & 22
SAPA will be handing out purple ribbons, the official awareness color for domestic violence. These ribbons are free and all are encouraged to wear them throughout the month!
Domestic & Intimate Partner Violence Program--Oct. 30
This interactive program covers the myths and realities of Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence, discussing how and why people enter, stay, and struggle to leave these relationships, the differences between healthy and DV/IPV relationships, and how to help someone in a DV/IPV relationship.
One Billion Rising -- Feb. 14
