Free to students and members, patrons can meet one-on-one with a certified personal trainer for a fitness coaching session during our open hours! The goal of this session is to give you guidance on how to best pursue your wellness goals. This session can include any optional fitness assessments and measurements. Learn more about these options below. Hours for fitness coaching are: Tuesdays 4-6pm, Wednesday 4-5pm, and Thursday 2-4pm

What measurements are completed?
How can I assess my level of physical fitness?
During our fitness coaching hours, students and members are able to have their level of physical fitness assessed for free through a series of fitness assessments and measurements.
- body weight
- resting blood pressure
- body fat % (skin fold calipers or bio-impedance)
- flexibility (sit & reach)
- cardiovascular capacity (3-minute step test recovery heart rate)
- muscular endurance (push-ups & curl-ups)
How long does it take?
If you would like a full fitness assessments it will take approximately 30 minutes. A body fat percentage assessment takes approximately 5-10 minutes.
Why should I get a fitness assessment?
There are many benefits of fitness assessments, the major use is to establish your strengths and weaknesses to discover which areas need improvement. From this your training programs can be modified accordingly and valuable training time can be used more efficiently. The initial testing session can also give you an idea of where all your fitness levels are at the start of a program, so that future testing can be compared to this and any changes can be noted. By repeating tests at regular intervals(every 2-3 months), you can get an idea of the effectiveness of your training program.
