Governor's Service Award Finalist - Mentoring Program of the Year 2010
This award recognized the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center for its school-based mentoring program, Lunch Buddies. Lunch Buddies matches at-risk children with college-positive trained CMU students every Friday during the academic year for a healthy lunch and active playground time where the appropriate mentoring focuses on a good attitude towards school and friends, healthy food choices and an active lifestyle.
