What is OrgSync?
OrgSync is a web application that allows
students and faculty to join, organize, manage and communicate with
registered student organizations (RSOs) and their members, sign up for
volunteer opportunities, and stay updated on campus events. It may even
resemble a “Facebook” atmosphere strictly for Central Michigan
University's campus.

OrgSync Frequently Asked Questions
I signed up for a week/weekend-long event and wasn’t given a specific time to show up to volunteer. What should I do?
If the agency that is holding the event is a CMU department (i.e.
Admissions, Greek Life) then they will contact you to set up a specific
time and place. If it is an off-campus agency (i.e. Big Brothers Big
Sisters, Red Cross) then you must contact them to make those
arrangements. If you are unsure of the agency please email us and we
will verify this information for you.
None of the listed projects interest me but I still want to volunteer, are there more opportunities available?
Call or visit the Brandell Volunteer Center and we will help find an
opportunity to fit your skills and schedule. If you have a specific
service idea in mind that is not currently offered, we may be able to
help you facilitate the creation of a new program or service project.
Also, continue to check back on OrgSync often because new volunteer
opportunities are added daily.
Why do I have to sign a release form?
To register with OrgSync, it is required that you read and sign the
release of liability form. It is important that students, faculty and
staff are aware that volunteering provides an exciting opportunity for
students to provide valuable service to areas and people in need and to
experience new places, kinds of work, different cultures and customs and
teamwork. However, the very difference of the experience also poses
some risks that should be carefully thought about by each participant.
This document attempts to highlight some of these risks.
How do I log my volunteer hours and why should I do this?
You can log your hours on OrgSync by going to the "My Tools" at the
top of the page after you have signed in. From the drop down menu choose
"Involvement." Click on the green "Involvement Entry" in the upper
right hand corner. Completely fill out all of the information, including
reference, and proof of involvement if you have it. Your submission
while then be approved. By logging your hours on OrgSync, you are able
to keep track of your involvement in an easy and efficient manner. A
list of your logged hours can be printed out and turned in for use with
your resume, or for a scholarship, class or program that requires
volunteer hours.
I’m not a registered CMU Student. How should I register?
If you wish to volunteer, contact your local Community Volunteer
Center and ask them to help you find a volunteer event that suits your
talents, needs, and availability. Search for your local United Way
Volunteer Center at www.unitedway.org.
If you wish to view our database please contact the Brandell
