Symantha has been a part of the CMU and Mt. Pleasant community since 2012. She came to CMU as a first-generation college student from the Upper Peninsula. During her undergraduate experience at CMU, she volunteered extensively with the Alternative Breaks program as a participant, Site Leader, and Board Member. It was through those experiences that she found her passion for civic engagement, LGBTQ+ Health and Equity, and gender and racial justice.
Symantha met her partner, Andrew, who also works for CMU, in 2009. They have a dog named Enzo.
