Woodland Park were among the country’s first African American resorts
owned and operated by African Americans; these resorts operated from the
1910s to the 1960s when civil rights legislation was enacted to
dismantle segregation and combat racial discrimination. “In Between the
Trees” has been lauded at several film festivals, including the LA
Independent Women Film Awards, New York Independent Cinema Awards, and
the Detroit Black Film Festival. A Q&A with the filmmaker will follow
